Mid Island Co-op is hiring a Community Relations and Marketing Coordinator at our Administration Office in Nanaimo, British Columbia Are you looking for a career in Community Relations and Marketing? Things you\xe2\x80\x99ll do: Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Community Relations and Marketing Coordinator will support the development and implementation of successful community relations and marketing initiatives to strengthen the Mid Island Co-op brands across the Co-op\xe2\x80\x99s trading area.

  • Support the development and execution of community relation strategies and activities including events;
  • Oversee the implementation of donations, sponsorships and key community partnerships as part the Co-op community engagement strategies;
  • Work with media, event organizers, to ensure project goals, timelines and budget are maximized;
  • Be the Co-op\xe2\x80\x99s key liaison and public relations representative within the Co-op\xe2\x80\x99s trading area and assist in coordinating local team member involvement;
  • Participate in the modification and implementation of brand plans, marketing/sales campaigns, promotions and advertising;
  • Oversee and monitor Mid Island Co-op\xe2\x80\x99s digital media and online presence; conducts communication through social media networks and tools and may respond to external customer inquiries, complaints and comments;
  • Conduct market research and monitors competitor activity directly impacting the Co-op to identify opportunities and trends within existing and new market segments;
  • Provide recommendations on innovative ideas for articles, press releases, and events;
  • Develop and foster strong working relationships with others across multiple departments to exchange/report/present information, advise and collaborate on issues/solutions.

Apply to become our Community Relations & Marketing Coordinator today if you have a post-secondary education in Business with 2 or more years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Community Relations and/or Marketing (a combination of education, training and experience will be considered). You have strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, advanced proficiency in Office 365, and knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, content and social media marketing.
