Position

This is a full-time contract onsite position to start immediately. The Community Programs Facilitator will report to the Manager of Programs and Services

Role Summary:



Working in collaboration with the inter-disciplinary team, both internally and a multidisciplinary team of healthcare, social services and family violence professionals externally, the Community Programs Facilitator will ensure the effective implementation of programs and in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of The Muslim Resource Centre for Support and Integration (MRCSSI) and the application of the culturally integrative family safety response approach.

The Community Programs Facilitator will be responsible for inter-agency consultation, and collaboration, and for facilitating communication, and decision-making among team members to optimize client care and outcomes. This role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, fostering of partnerships, community engagement clinical expertise, and the ability to respond to the needs of youth, families, men and boys in a fast-paced environment.

The Muslim Resource Centre for Social Support and Integration is a not-for-profit, charitable, anti-violence and social support agency promoting family safety and family wellbeing within London's diverse communities. Our services at MRCSSI are grounded in our innovative Culturally Integrative Model, serving immigrants and refugee newcomers and their established communities. MRCSSI uses the culturally integrative model to work with clients within its two pillars, prevention and intervention. Functional Area



Planning, organization, direction, implementation and coordination of activities as required for the implementation of different projects and program's goals and objectives.

Description



This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and creative professional who will be focusing on family programs, youth outreach and engagement and developing and implementing strategies to engage men and boys. The professional will co-develop, oversea and assist with implementation of three main priorities: o The Strengthening Families Program (SFP) o Community outreach and engagement with the goal to connect young people with resources, opportunities, and support systems, and o Engaging men and boys in community programs focused on gender equality, promoting healthy relationships, communication, identity, sense of belonging, positive masculinity, and mental health promotion. As the Community Programs Facilitator, you will be responsible for the planning, organization and direction of all activities as required for the full implementation of projects goals and objectives. This includes ensuring the projects' activities are consistent with the projects objectives and that objectives can be met with available resources while ensuring that the projects meet targets, budget and timelines, with appropriate reporting and evaluation. The Community Programs Facilitator, will be accountable to the Manager of Programs and Services.

General Duties and Responsibilities



Identify and contact key people, organizations, stakeholders and potential partners for the different projects; Conduct community outreach and development to facilitate participant referrals for the Strengthening Families Program; Facilitate the development of initiatives, projects and programs directed to youth Develop a strategy to engage youth and ensure their participation; Facilitate the development of projects and programs to engage men and boys Develop a strategy to engage men and boys and ensure their participation; Conduct literature and program reviews; Implement project methodologies, processes and an evaluation plan; Coordinate logistics, staffing and program participants for group sessions; Ensure timely preparation of information and other written documents/materials as required for project implementation; Complete required documentation in a timely manner; collect and input client information into the organization's data system as required; consult with designated supervisor on a regular basis; and, Responsible for submitting weekly reports and meeting with the Manager of Programs and Services on a regular basis.

Project Planning



Define the scope of the initiatives/projects (youth, working with men and boys) in collaboration with Manager of Programs and Services; Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the different projects; Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project; Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities; Review the project schedules with Manager of Programs and Services and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities and revise the schedule as required; and, Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion.

Project Implementation



Implement the SFP according to the project plan; Develop SFP forms and records to document project activities; Set up files to ensure that all SFP project information is appropriately documented and secured; Collate and ensure that data for the project is harvested as to evaluate outcomes, including developing questionnaires as to measure outcomes for families and individuals involved in this project; Monitor the progress of the SFP project and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion; Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project; and, Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standard.

Project Control and Evaluation



Write reports on the SFP project for management and ultimately to the funders of this project; Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality; and, Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase.

Qualifications



Education: University degree in Human Services or related field, including Social Work, Social Services, Sociology, Psychology, Counselling, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Counselling Education, or Public Health.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



Professional and personal commitment to practice based on values and ethics and to exercise ethical decision-making; ability to manage complex and sensitive issues; Knowledge of family development, functioning and dynamics, violence prevention, immigration and settlement experience; Experience developing and implementing outreach strategies to a culturally diverse community; especially to racialized and at-risk youth. Expert knowledge of issues of immigrant communities related to successful integration; Demonstrated abilities in anti-oppressive practice skills and ability to communicate appropriately with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures and experiences; demonstrated experience in the delivery of culturally appropriate and sensitive services; Project planning, development, implementation and evaluation experience while working with a diverse/multicultural team; Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to communicate effectively, speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough but concise manner using appropriate and effective communication tools; Ability to fluently speak, read, write in Arabic and English, is a requirement. Ability to speak other languages especially Farsi or Urdu would be considered an asset; Excellent interpersonal, time management, problem solving and organizational skills; ability to work independently, as well as within a team environment; and, Proficiency in and familiarity with Microsoft Office including word processing and spreadsheets, E-mail and Internet navigation is an asset.
