The Department of Companion Animals at the Atlantic Veterinary College, University of Prince Edward Island, invites applications for a
full-time 2-year, 4 month (September 1, 2025 - December 31, 2027) term contract faculty position in Community Practice
, with the possibility of extension pending budgetary approval.
Appointment will be made at the Lecturer level.
The successful applicant will join an established Community Practice program with three full-time community practice veterinarians along with 2 full-time and 1 part-time veterinary technicians. Job duties and responsibilities include teaching in the undergraduate and graduate DVM program, providing clinical professional service in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, performing scholarly activities including primary research and providing service to the University. Teaching duties will include didactic, laboratory and clinical teaching of the community practice curriculum.
The successful candidate will have:
a DVM (or equivalent) degree
demonstrated teaching ability
demonstrated skill in routine small animal surgical procedures and dentistry
well-developed skills of collaboration, relationship-building and communication
be eligible for licensure with the Prince Edward Island Veterinary Medical Association.
The salary range is commensurate with credentials and experience. Full-time, permanent faculty members receive a comprehensive fringe benefit package, with benefit details provided at time of offer in accordance with the collective agreement. This appointment is subject to budgetary approval.
