As a Community Outreach Liaison with Emergency Management & Community Safety (EMCS), you will gather, identify, document and assess the nature, extent and level of client care/intervention required for the members of the vulnerable population engaged by the Community Outreach Officers. You will also provide analysis and reporting to support to leadership, frontline staff and executive decisions. Primary duties include:

Develop, maintain and update files and flowcharts and update information related to subjects/targets. Review public safety files for events and recent arrests for possible links to potential safety risks. Extract and interpret specialized crime data and relevant information. Liaise with Calgary Police Service (CPS) staff to ensure that information and analysis is shared with operational and investigational units and ensure analytical support is coordinated. Establish integrated process with agency partners. Provide analytical support and lead or assist staff with ongoing projects. Collect, collate, draft, analyze and distribute documents including target sheets, bulletins, briefing notes and regular monthly quarterly and annual reporting. Utilize data to track statistical changes and report on findings. Conduct research on various social disorder issues. Compose in-depth profiles for social disorder awareness. Identify trends in social disorder or individuals suffering vulnerabilities. Make recommendations on action plans and identify solutions to support operations.


Qualifications

A completed 2 year diploma in Social Sciences (Psychology, Sociology, Public Safety) and at least 5 years related experience, OR; A degree and at least 3 years of related experience. Knowledge of research methodologies, statistics, data structure, casework and intervention-based approach is preferred. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Forms). Experience using data visualization software, mapping software and developing dashboard software will be considered an asset. The ability to understand and interpret data and communicate detailed work and sensitive information in a clear and concise manner. Exceptional communication and listening skills, critical thinking, the ability to analyze and problem solve, strong research and planning skills and demonstrated political and business acumen.

Working Conditions:

Office environment with potential for exposure to graphic, violent and disturbing material related to incidents.

Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
