The H&R MFRC is a non-profit organization that strengthens the well-being of all those who share the unique experience of military life. The Community Outreach will bring awareness and enhance visibility of the H&R MFRC to communities from Halifax to Cape Breton. You will travel within our geographical region to connect with both civilian and military agencies to strengthen and establish community partnerships. You will connect directly with military families to assess how MFRC services and supports are offered in outlying communities.
This position balances outreach and administrative responsibilities, requiring organizational skills, personal initiative and public engagement abilities. As a front-facing position, it requires positivity and people skills to act as an ambassador for the H&R MFRC.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:

High degree of comfort and experience with public speaking, networking and initiating engagement with new or existing community partners.

Ability to problem solve and resolve conflicts to satisfactory results.
Adaptable and comfortable in unfamiliar environments.
Understanding or experience of military family resource centres or military life.
Can meet physical demands for event/activity set up or long periods of standing.
Willing to work evenings and weekends
Qualifications
Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
Proficiency in English is required; French is an asset. (Preference may be given to bilingual candidates)
Proficient in Microsoft 365, basic data entry (emphasis on MS TEAMS and Outlook).
Preference may be given to candidates with knowledge of the military lifestyle.
A valid Nova Scotia Driver's License is required.
