And that is something to be excited about!Your role and responsibilitiesAs a Community Manager at Xanadu, you will be helping to bring quantum computing\xe2\x80\x94a cutting-edge society-transforming technology\xe2\x80\x94to the world. Focusing on our open-source quantum computing software , you will help nurture and grow a burgeoning community of scientists, developers, educators, students, and enthusiasts.In this role, you will:

  • Interact with an industry-leading open-source community interested in quantum computing, quantum machine learning, quantum chemistry, and quantum programming
  • Actively support community members by providing friendly responsive support and helping to solve their questions, inquiries, and bug reports
  • Perform outreach activities at conferences, workshops, and other events, such as delivering workshops or talks about quantum computing topics
  • Support Xanadu\xe2\x80\x99s community-building events, such as our quantum computing hackathon
  • Interact with Xanadu\xe2\x80\x99s commercial partners and event sponsors, helping them integrate and connect with the larger community
  • Carry out in-person lab tours at Xanadu\xe2\x80\x99s downtown Toronto office location
  • Work collaboratively with members of Xanadu\xe2\x80\x99s development, research, product, marketing, and content teams
Basic qualifications and experience
  • Undergraduate degree in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field
  • Experience communicating scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Friendly, welcoming demeanor, in both online and in-person environments
  • Experience participating in an online scientific, open-source, or educational community
  • Demonstrated interest and commitment to education, outreach, and community building
  • Comfortable working with Python
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple competing priorities
  • Experience working effectively with multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Very strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications and experience
  • Graduate degree in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field
  • Experience working in quantum computing or quantum science
  • Experience with quantum software libraries, e.g., PennyLane, Qiskit
  • Familiarity with the broader quantum computing software and hardware landscape
  • Experience organizing/running community-building events: conferences, workshops, etc
  • Experience building online communities whose members have a diverse set of skills and education levels
