Community Living Mississauga provides a variety of supports and services to people who have an intellectual disability, including: residential supports, employment resources, community engagement, Supported Independent Living, respite, and various day support options. Description of Position
The Community Living Support Manager is responsible for the overall operation and service delivery to people we support within their homes (24 hour residential locations). Working under the guidance of the Director, this position is responsible for ensuring quality support is provided to assist people who have an intellectual disability to live meaningful lives and to be fully engaged in their community. On-site presence is required a minimum of 40% of scheduled time at the locations within the area of responsibility, including weekends and evenings.
Description of Duties
Champion the creation of community capacity and the building of social capital.
Provide strong leadership, coaching, mentoring and accountability in a team environment for employees working in the residential locations of Community Living Mississauga.
Meet and maintain the agency's expectations related to achieving outcomes for each person supported.
Ensure that supports maximize the potential for independence in the least intrusive fashion, utilizing natural supports and the use of community networks.
Provide coaching and supervision, work diligently to create strong team based cultures within staffing groups, establish team norms, develop skills, manage performance by way of goal setting, regular meetings, effective communication, problem solving and conflict resolution.
Ensure all corporate policies and legislative compliance requirements are met including Health and Safety, Human Rights, funders, Municipal requirements, Ministry of Labour, etc.
Manage budget expenditures of all assigned cost centres to ensure the effective use of all resources and fiscal accountability.
Scheduling and hiring of employees to provide support to each person.
Qualifications
Developmental Services Worker Diploma (preferred) or Social Services Worker Diploma, Child and Youth Worker Diploma, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the social services field or working or volunteering with people who have an intellectual disability.
Will consider a University Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the social services field or working or volunteering with people who have an intellectual disability.
Must have supervisory experience.
Current valid certificates in First Aid/CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
Valid Ontario Driver's License (Class G or G2); access to a reliable vehicle with insurance.
Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, non-verbal and written).
Proficient in PC computer environment, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and other software.
Bilingualism in English/French or other language would be considered an asset.
Experience with creating and monitoring behaviour support plans is an asset
