JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Community Justice Counsellors offer client-centered services that provide strength-based individual education, assessment and counselling to youth and adults involved in the legal system. The primary focus for client service delivery would be supporting several of the Community Justice Programs.
As a Community Justice Counsellor, you will:
Complete intakes, facilitate groups and meet with clients
Be responsible for court coverage
Assist in other Community Justice programs as needed and scheduled
Respond to client needs by providing support counselling, information and by liaising with resources, support and referral sources.
Hours of work
: 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4: 30 p.m. May involve some evenings and weekends. Position home office location is 3 days in Simcoe and 2 days in Brantford.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Annual Salary: $47,288.00 plus comprehensive benefits

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Have a college diploma in a Human/Social Services field.
Have a minimum 1-year combined student placement and/or paid experience working with individuals involved in the justice system.
Have a knowledge of the Criminal Justice System
Be proficient in MS Office and be familiar with databases.
Have access to reliable transportation.
Be able to manage occasional exposure to vicarious traumatic stress.
