to join our health care team, which includes the 'Na?mg?is Health Centre staff and Cormorant Island Hospital staff. Based in the idyllic setting of Cormorant Island (Alert Bay, BC), the Community Health Nurse provides disease prevention and health promotion support and activities to the community through individual and group clinics. The role also includes implementing and evaluating community-based services and providing appropriate resources and care to clients in accordance with accepted standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate disease prevention education through support groups, presentations, and organized events
Liaise with interdisciplinary health care members to promote awareness of disease prevention and complication management
Assist with planning, scheduling, implementing, and evaluating nursing programs and services
Maintain health records (including computerized data) as required by BCCNM practice standards
Provide health care services through home visits, clinics, and education workshops for all ages
Manage communicable disease control in accordance with FNHA/Island Health standards
Deliver Family Health program services in accordance with Island Health contractual agreements
Participate in Accreditation meetings, policy development, and implementation of the Health Centre's Strategic and Emergency Preparedness Plans
Other related duties as required
Qualifications:
University Degree in Nursing or RN designation with diploma
Communicable Disease Control Certificate
Current Practicing License with the BC College of Nurses & Midwives
Valid BC Driver's License and personal vehicle for business use
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector search

Salary:
$48.77 - $61.33 per hour
