Community Engagement & Prevention Worker

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Community Engagement & Prevention Worker position involves providing in-home support and education to youth and families, developing short-term support plans, facilitating supported family visits, and offering educational groups. This role requires working with children and youth with complex needs, coordinating with internal and external agencies, and working outside standard hours as necessary. Successful candidates will maintain documentation as per agency standards.
Qualifications:
Successful completion of at minimum a two-year Social Services, Child and Youth, or ECE Services diploma program from a Community College. Previous experience of 18 months and up to 3 years in a related field is an asset. The incumbent possesses theoretical knowledge of child/youth development and behaviour and is familiar with a variety of parenting/treatment modalities, good communication and writing skills, personal suitability in working with children/youth/families, ability to work with colleagues, and presents as a positive role model.
Remuneration
: $52,432 - $58,395 annually
