About Us:
Brain Care Centre (BCC) exists to give those impacted by acquired brain injury the support they need to overcome limitations, reconnect, rebuild, and thrive in the community. BCC is a registered charitable not-for-profit organization and serves the spectrum of brain injury from mild to severe.
Our team has about 20 staff located in Edmonton and Edson working in a hybrid format with once monthly in-person staff meetings at the Edmonton office.

Role:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Community Engagement Manager collaborates with leadership to develop strategies and leads execution of all things events, communications, and volunteer management. With a small administrative team, support of additional administrative duties may be required in addition to participation in internal committees and working with the Board's Fundraising Committee.
We are seeking a storyteller that can effectively share our story in a way that attracts increased interest and support to BCC. The individual should have the ability to take initiative, identifying opportunities for growth and engagement through traditional and grassroots channels with the skillset to produce high quality events, content, and collateral that builds BCC's brand and reputation. Qualifications:
Related diploma or degree plus 7-10 years of related professional experience
Work experience within a nonprofit organization is strongly preferred
Experience planning successful events that raise profile, awareness and funds
An innovative approach and mindset to engaging clients, donors, and future partners
Successful outcomes using various social media platforms, Canva, MailChimp
Excellent written communications for various channels from storytelling to metric reports
Demonstrated ability to identify, report on, and meet KPIs
A track record of producing impactful communications including newsletters, donor appeals, annual reports, social media, and press releases
A high attention to detail and sensitivity to maintaining Brand and style guidelines
Experience managing volunteers for various opportunities including corporate, events, and ongoing service enhancing roles
Familiarity with professional working boundaries and policies related to volunteer participation
A team player that celebrates and leans into strengths in others
Experience operating in a hybrid work environment is considered an asset
Clear criminal record check for vulnerable sectors
Major Responsibilities:
Create, implement, and report on a communications plan that aligns with organizational goals
Establish clear brand guidelines, templates, and collateral assets
Increase engagement and profile of BCC to ensure all eligible clients know how to access services and to attract grants and donations by compelling philanthropic activity
Manage all digital media including content creation and management BCC's social media accounts and website, including interacting with the various audiences on each platform
Prepare and distribute quarterly e-newsletter
Work with management and the Fundraising Committee to ideate fund and awareness raising event concepts; plan and execute event delivery
Expand and manage BCC's volunteer program
Meaningfully engage other BCC staff in community engagement initiatives
Assist with donor and market research when required
Administrative tasks to support the organization as required
Compensation:
The position will be compensated in line with BCC manager salary parameters commensurate with experience.
