The Squamish Off-Road Cycling Association (SORCA) is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit organization that advocates for mountain biking and trails in and around Squamish, BC. SORCA operates entirely within Skwxwu7mesh Uxwumixw Xay Temixw, the territory of the Squamish Nation. SORCA's mission is to maintain and expand Squamish's mountain bike trail network for diverse trail users, advocate on behalf of mountain biking and the trails in Squamish, encourage responsible and sustainable use of the trails in Skwxwu7mesh Uxumixw Xay Temixw, create inclusion in the Squamish mountain biking community and organize awesome races, social events and programs year-round.
The Community Engagement Coordinator works closely with SORCA's Executive Director, working committees and other staff to deliver effective communications, manage sponsorships, support events, and coordinate membership activities. This role helps uphold SORCA's positive public profile and contributes to securing essential funding that supports all trail related costs, ensuring the maintenance and growth of our community's trail network.
The individual works primarily from a home office environment.

: $55,000-$65,000/ per annum

Key Responsibilities
Develop communication materials and content (including but not limited to newsletters and social media posts) for SORCA's membership and the broader mountain biking and trail user communities
Act as the coordinator and key point person for all of SORCA's social media and direct email correspondence
Identify, secure, and grow sponsorship relationships, collaborating with the Executive Director and MVF sub-committee to maintain strong, value-driven partnerships.
Responsible for the timely invoicing of sponsors and partners
Responsible for communications and promotion for all events (races, social rides, trailbuilding, membership pop-ups, one-off events etc.)
Along SORCA's events coordinator, responsible for monitoring community and volunteer inquiries and, when appropriate, the response thereof
Annually launch SORCA membership
Facilitation, marketing, management and servicing of memberships
Manage merchandise design, procurement and distribution, invoicing with local retailers
Support fundraising, merchandise sales and partnership programs as appropriate, including stewardship activities and outreach support
Other administration and outreach duties as required
Key Attributes of a Successful Candidate
Reside and work in Squamish
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail while balancing dynamic responsibilities
Strong technological foundation with experience in Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Meet)
An understanding of the mountain bike community would be an asset
Excellent listening skills and ability to follow directions when necessary
Self-directed, requiring minimal supervision
Excellent organizational and event support skills
Experience in website and social media content development would be an asset
Experience in graphic design would be an asset
Experience volunteering or working with non-profits would be an asset
