The Centre for Student Engagement at the University of Toronto Mississauga is committed to creating inclusive learning environments to cultivate holistic student development. The Community Engagement Coordinator: Indigenous Access & Inclusion will work to develop and implement Indigenous cohort streams in some of CSE\xe2\x80\x99s Access Programs including SEE UTM, UTM Bridging Mentorship Program and Indigenous Orientation. CSE\xe2\x80\x99s access and inclusion programs work to address systemic barriers by centering the communities we work with in the development and implementation process of our programs. To do this work, we need to build authentic, transparent, and reciprocal relationships with community. This role will work closely with internal and external partners to expand and enhance these programs for indigenous students.
Working closely in partnership with the Office of Indigenous Initiatives at UTM, this position also plays a pivotal role on behalf of the Student Affairs and Services in Answering the Call: Wecheehetowin the University of Toronto Response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. This will include working with the Office of Indigenous Initiatives to engage in relationship building with Knowledge Keepers, Indigenous and non-Indigenous faculty, scholars, staff, students, and external Indigenous communities and organizations.
