is an innovative, client-focused provider of secure and supportive affordable housing and services to people living with HIV/AIDS in the Greater Toronto Area. With approximately 110 staff working across 6 locations, in 2020-2021, Fife House served more than 850 residents and clients by providing supportive and transitional housing programs as well as outreach programs to homeless clients and their families.

The Community Engagement and Volunteer Program Manager at Fife House will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage the community, foster relationships, and promote the organization's mission. This role will also oversee volunteer management, ensuring that volunteers are effectively recruited, trained, and supported.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Community Engagement
Develop and execute community outreach programs that build awareness of Fife House's services.
Establish and maintain service partnerships with local organizations, businesses, colleges, universities, and community leaders.
Organize events and initiatives that promote community involvement and participation.
Involves residents and community volunteers in all aspects of community engagement.
Supports/coordinates the GIPA/MEPA Committee.
Assists with all Fife House's community programs and related functions/events.
Volunteer Management
Recruit, train, screen, and manage volunteers to support community engagement initiatives.
Create and implement volunteer training programs and orientation sessions.
Ensure volunteers are recognized and appreciated for their contributions.
Coordinates coverage of community programs when volunteers are not present and/or support is needed.
Conduct annual evaluation of the Volunteer and Community Programs.
Program Development
Collaborate with team members to design programs that meet community needs.
Assess the effectiveness of community engagement initiatives and make recommendations for improvement.
Participates in related networks such as Volunteer Canada, Volunteer Toronto, etc.
Works with the Director of Programs and Operations to implement, evaluate, and coordinate new programs as needed.
Event Coordination
Organize community events, workshops, and activities to encourage participation and collaboration.
Manage logistics and coordinate volunteers for successful event execution.
Oversees bookings of community rooms and other spaces.
Oversees the fee collection associated with room bookings.
Communication and Reporting
Prepare reports on community engagement activities and volunteer contributions.
Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including community members, volunteers, and staff.
Supervise and mentor community engagement staff and volunteers.
Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages teamwork and innovation.
Completes all administrative responsibilities related to the delivery of programs.
Records attendance and any required statistics of all community programs and volunteer activities.
Assists with recording statistical data entries for meal programs and general volunteering into OCASE and Fundraising software, as needed
budgeting and shopping, connections to supports and resources in their local community
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Post-secondary education in a related area and/or equivalent experience
The incumbent must have at least 2 years of experience in community-based program development, implementation, and oversight in the not-for-profit sector.
Experience in providing oversight and support to community volunteers.
The Community Engagement and Volunteer Program Manager will have experience working with marginalized individuals and persons of diverse ethnic, cultural, racial backgrounds, and sexual orientations.
The Community Engagement and Volunteer Program Manager will have experience working with some of the following populations: individuals who are homeless or under-housed, people from Indigenous communities, members of the 2SLGBTQ community, refugees, individuals with mental health and/or substance use challenges, people in conflict with the law, individuals involved with sex work and individuals who experience violence and crisis
The Community Engagement and Volunteer Program Manager will have the ability to carry out their duties independently and as part of a team
The Community Engagement and Volunteer Program Manager will have the ability to follow through on commitments and maintain professional boundaries with community members while working in a peer capacity.
Microsoft experience and data management tools.

Lived experience navigating multiple Toronto based service agencies
Lived experience (current or past) homeless/street-involvement
Lived experience and/or knowledge of the immigration process and community supports for immigrants/refugees
