About the Role


We are seeking reliable and motivated Community Disability Support Practitioners to join our team. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys meaningful work, values flexibility, and thrives on working independently while supporting individuals both at home and in the community.

A Day in the Life



Support individuals in participating in community activities, social events, and personal development goals. Encourage independence, self-advocacy, and community inclusion. Assist with daily living skills such as personal care, meal preparation, and medication reminders. Communicate effectively with individuals, families, caregivers, and supervisors to ensure consistent, person-centered support. Maintain accurate documentation of supports provided.

Schedule & Hours



Hours of work fall

Monday to Friday between 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (no evenings or weekends are required, though weekend and evening availability is considered an asset).

Hours are assigned based on caseloads, which may change depending on client needs. Flexibility is key. Shifts are typically 3-6 hours per client, and you may support more than one client in a day. Staff cannot exceed 8 hours/day, with part-time (0-24 hrs/week) and full-time (24-40 hrs/week) opportunities available.

Mandatory monthly in-office team meetings are required.


Important Considerations



This role requires travel across the Edmonton area between client homes and community locations. Travel time and expenses are not reimbursed, so this position is best suited for individuals who are comfortable with independent commuting. Caseloads are assigned based on your availability and client needs. The rate of pay is higher than similar roles in our other programs to reflect this flexibility.

Requirements & Qualifications



At least 3 years of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities (preferred). Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (required). Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience supporting individuals with behaviours of concern; mental health experience is an asset. Intermediate computer skills.

Access to reliable transportation is essential

due to travel between client locations.

Compensation & Perks



Hourly rate:

$22.00 - $24.04

Higher rate of pay compared to similar positions in our other programs. Not benefit-eligible, but all employees have access to our Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP). Flexible scheduling within weekday daytime hours Opportunities for professional growth and development
