Introduction:
Evergreen is currently seeking to add new voices to the recently formed Institute for Public Art and Sustainability (IPAS).
As an evolution of the Evergreen Public Art Program, IPAS supports and sustains public art for future generations, led by the values of resilience, environmental stewardship, re-indigenization and anticolonialism, and equity. Informed by Indigenous knowledges of interconnectivity and land as relation, IPAS works closely with its community and institutional partners to foster sustainability through both ecosystem and arts ecology.
We are seeking three Community Directors to contribute their unique skills and expertise to IPAS and Evergreen. Providing services as an Independent Contractor, the Community Director will guide and advise on existing activities to help shape the strategy and vision of the Institute and its programming into the future. Due to the specificity of this work, we hold this space for Black, Indigenous and racialized persons, and persons with disabilities, with gender and sexually diverse identities and/or the intersections of these identities.
About Us:
Evergreen is a national not-for-profit helping make cities flourish. Cities that are low carbon, inclusive to all and sustainable at their core.
For 30 years, Evergreen has been making Canadian cities better places to move, work, live, play and grow. We have worked from coast to coast with governments, neighborhood groups, school boards, developers and residents, collaborating to create better communities.
IPAS will be steered by a non-hierarchical governance model of Community Directors who will seek to address systemic barriers in public art.
