SCOPE:
The
Community Development Coordinator
will provide communication, collaboration and planning support programs areas to build capacity within the Community Development portfolio. This position will work closely with and support the Membership, Chapters and Community Development Managers in daily tasks and program operations. This position will provide support through training and resources to ensure effective streamlined service delivery to Indigenous women and their families in a cultural-based, trauma-informed holistic practice.
The Community Development Coordinator will be responsible to support Community Development programs by identifying gaps, trends and program outcomes/ impacts, assist with statistical reporting, update budget workbooks, support portfolio training needs to build capacity to ensure program strengths and solutions are moving forward and implemented according to the program standards and guidelines, and ensure alignment within ONWA's Strategic direction to support Indigenous Women's leadership.
The Community Development Coordinator will have strong communication and relationship skills required to coordinate and host regional meetings, provincial events, training, and information packages for staff and management. They will be responsible for developing and enhancing key community relationships with ONWA services and membership, Indigenous communities, internal and external stakeholders.
The Community Development Coordinator will support internal projects including event planning, policy and procedures revisions as directed, program service delivery manuals, weekly programming manuals and programming support and development, program training plan, monthly program planning meetings, funder and agreement charting, annual report, portfolio brochures, and inventory planning to ensure success is achieved locally and in all program sites across the province.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Post-secondary diploma/degree in Social Sciences, Indigenous Studies, Women's Studies, Business Administration with a minimum three (3) years' work experience in community service delivery in a project coordination role.
Demonstrated administrative management and coordination skills.
Knowledge, experience and understanding of budgets and budget forecasting.
Ability to work independently and as a team.
Excellent communication skills including written, oral and facilitation skills to participate in projects, draft meeting summaries, reports, briefing materials and actively lead program task and working groups.
Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to plan to define measurable objectives and outcomes and meet objectives within strict timelines.
Knowledge of Not-for-Profit organization program delivery and reporting structures.
Knowledge of Indigenous Culture, Traditions, and Indigenous Community and ability to work cross-culturally, and especially across the range of Indigenous communities, internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge and understanding of issues experienced by Indigenous women and their families (violence, child welfare, H/T, well-being).
Strong awareness of community resources across the province, with the ability to network and support these relationships.
Solution oriented with proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience coordinating, facilitating meetings, workshops and/or conferences and events (locally and provincially) for Community Development portfolio.
Experience with resource development and implementation including brochures, program manuals, service delivery manuals, Power Point presentations, resource material, contribution agreement manual, etc).
A cellular phone and internet access is required within this position.
Must be willing and able to work a flexible working from home arrangement if required. This may include a combination of virtual remote work in your home and in office arrangements. This will be based on operational needs and will be determined by ONWA.
Working knowledge of MS Office Software, databases such as EMHware and CRM, internet, and general office equipment.
Valid G Class Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance.
Valid current vulnerable sector criminal records check and, First Aid/CPR.
Ability/willingness to travel and to work flexible hours.
Ability to speak an Indigenous language an asset.

he full salary range for this role is $56,400 - $69,405. ONWA conducts annual performance reviews, and employees may be eligible for salary adjustments based on performance outcomes and available funding.
