About Grandview Kids

Grandview Kids provides an array of specialized programs, rehabilitation services, and outpatient clinical treatments to children and youth with physical, communication, and developmental needs. Programs and services - which are delivered at the Centre, in the community, at schools, and in-home - include: medical consultation, assessment, and diagnosis; audiology, autism support; complex care program; occupational therapy; physiotherapy; respite services; social work; speech-language pathology; therapeutic recreation; and family engagement. Grandview Kids actively participates in research to support innovation in rehabilitation science, to advance organizational capabilities, and to better serve caregivers and the developmental needs of their children and adolescents. Grandview Kids is now accepting applications for the position of:
Communicative Disorders Assistant (Contract Full-Time) - 1 Position
Contract Full-Time (1FTE) - 37.5 hours per week
Contract Duration: October 2025 - March 31st, 2026
Salary:$28.19 - $32.64 per hour, depending upon experience
In Person/Onsite
Under the general direction of a Clinical Manager and supervision of the Speech-Language Pathologists, the primary role of the Communicative Disorders Assistant is to implement therapy plans to target a broad range of communication goals for clients in various programs at Grandview Kids. These programs may include the Preschool Speech and Language Program, Preschool Outreach Program, Ontario Autism Program, School-Based Rehabilitation Services, Social Enterprise, and Campbell Children's School. In addition, the Communicative Disorders Assistant supports indirect client care activities (e.g., material preparation, session planning, etc.); assists in providing departmental support; documents involvement in client care; maintains communication with all other staff members; supports efforts in Quality Improvement Program (QIP) activities; participates in education, orientation and public relations, as required; maintains a safe work environment; performs other related duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Community College Communicative Disorders Assistant Diploma (CDA)
Must be eligible for full membership with CDAAC
0 - 3 months experience in a clinical setting
Knowledge of children's speech-language development and generally accepted principles and practices, and specialized knowledge of pediatric disabilities (e.g. Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorder)
Experience with children in all age groups.
Knowledge and experience in implementing principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis an asset.
Well-developed communication skills including verbal, non-verbal
Ability to collaborate with other team members
Computer literacy
Ability to manage time effectively and set priorities
Ability to follow direction and to work in an independent manner
Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle, or access to reliable/appropriate transportation.
