Job Description

This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in the communications, sport and entertainment, industries as a Communications/PR Intern for the Belleville Senators Hockey Club, American Hockey League affiliate of the Ottawa Senators. The Senators are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and energetic individual who will be responsible for assisting other members of the communications and content department with various game day tasks. The successful candidate will be supervised by the Coordinator, Broadcast and Communications, and must form strong working relationships with all members of the organization, particularly within the marketing and content departments, and with game day staff.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the Communications/PR Intern may include:

? Managing press room/press box assets, including distribution of media notes, three-star balloting and others

? Assisting with media accreditation requests, credential distribution, and in-game media needs

? Contributing content for Belleville Sens web and social media platforms, including interviews, written features and others

? Assisting with the production of game highlights, post-game interviews and other game day content as required

? Other duties as required and agreed upon

Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements

? College diploma or university degree (preferably in Communications, Broadcast, Journalism, or another related field)

? Thorough knowledge of the Belleville Senators roster, the American Hockey League and its teams, and the sport of hockey in general

? Excellent research, organization and time management skills

? Excellent communication, relationship building, and customer service skills

? A contagious, positive attitude

? Exceptional work ethic, eagerness to learn, professionalism and a passion for the sport industry

? Willingness to work evenings and weekends, including all Belleville Senators home games, community events, and other team functions

? Ability to thrive as part of a team, and build a team with shared values
