Communications Specialist - Part-Time/Freelance



Job Overview:



The Communications Specialist will serve as the voice of Mendoza Boxing Club, responsible for creating engaging content that connects our community and promotes our programs. This role includes crafting member emails and announcements, managing social media accounts across multiple platforms, designing promotional materials for events and classes, and maintaining consistent brand messaging. You'll coordinate communications for special events like our seasonal workshops and open sparring sessions, develop marketing campaigns to attract new members, and create compelling visual and written content that captures the energy and spirit of our boxing community. The ideal candidate will work flexible hours (approximately 10-20 hours per week) and can balance creativity with strategic thinking to enhance member engagement, strengthen our club's presence both online and offline, and help grow our vibrant boxing family. This position offers the freedom to work remotely while staying connected to an exciting, fast-paced fitness environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:



Develop and distribute member communications including emails, newsletters, and announcements Manage and grow social media presence across all platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.) Create promotional materials and graphics for events, classes, and special programs Design and execute marketing campaigns to attract and retain members Coordinate event communications and promotional efforts for special club activities Maintain brand consistency across all communications channels Monitor and respond to member inquiries and engagement on digital platforms Capture and share member stories, testimonials, and success stories Track and analyze engagement metrics to optimize communication strategies Collaborate with club management on strategic communications planning Provide occasional on-site coverage for major events and activities

Qualifications:



Strong writing and editing skills with excellent grammar and attention to detail Experience with social media management (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.) Proficiency in graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar) Knowledge of email marketing platforms and basic HTML formatting Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines Creative mindset with ability to develop engaging, on-brand content Strong communication and interpersonal skills Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision Experience in fitness, sports, or community-focused organizations (preferred but not required) Basic photography/videography skills a plus Passion for boxing, fitness, or athletics is a bonus Available for occasional on-site visits and event coverage
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $1,500.00-$2,000.00 per month
