Position Summary
The Communications Specialist will play an essential role in informing and engaging the community working at and served by Quinte Health hospitals. In this fast paced role, you will bring your expertise and experience to help Quinte Health enhance its presence, brand and relationships through communications including social media, website, and the intranet. You will collaborate with team members and support departments across our four hospitals on the awareness, understanding, development and delivery of communication for internal and external audiences.

Travel between Quinte Health\'s four hospitals will be required.

This is a full-time permanent position, with 75 hours bi-weekly, 8-hour shift, day shifts. We offer a competitive salary ($36.29/ hour- $42.68/ hour) in addition to a comprehensive pension, health & dental benefits package.
Required

  • Successful completion of a College diploma or University degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing is required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience is required.
  • Outgoing personality with a comfort in proactively interacting with frontline teams, managers at all levels, volunteers, and partner organizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to manage websites using common content management platforms.
  • Experienced in digital marketing methods, social media platforms and monitoring, and online analytics and publishing tools.
  • Sound graphic design skills preferred.
  • Experience or familiarity with using video editing applications.
  • Experience working within a healthcare organization or broader public sector setting is required.

Duties
  • Design communication plans to support priority initiatives and projects.
  • Develop and coordinate a variety of communications, leveraging social media and other digital communications platforms.
  • Identify, assess and incorporate best practices and new methods to help enhance the effectiveness of Quinte Health\'s communications.
  • Produce e-newsletters and maintain the intranet to keep our dedicated team of staff, physicians and volunteers informed.
  • Develop website and social media content \xe2\x80\x93 writing, graphical content, audio, video development and editing and photography.
  • In collaboration with Human Resources, you will help develop and execute staff/physician recognition and engagement campaigns and activities.
  • Work collaboratively with key partners including the Auxiliaries and Foundations
  • Assist with media and government relations duties and other communication tasks as required.
