Reporting directly to the Senior Communications Manager, this role functionally supports Aecon?s Civil (East) sector through effective communications strategy and content development and proven project management delivery. What You'll Do Here

  • Lead the development and on-time delivery of all strategic comms/marketing assets and event deliverables for Aecon?s Civil (East) operating sector, leveraging both digital and print production and developed in partnership with sector leads and internal/external partners.
  • Ensure universal strategic alignment to business objectives for each deliverable through a multi-tiered, multi-pronged comms plan, leveraging both digital and print content development, from ideation through development and execution to measurable outcomes.
  • Liaise daily with Aecon?s Civil sector team and project partners to support and drive content ideation and development.
  • Research, write, and edit original content and scripts to support Aecon?s internal/external delivery channels.
  • Schedule, organize, and host related virtual and in-person events and awareness-building information sessions and forums.
  • Develop and manage program metrics and dashboards (i.e. click rates/tracking/polling/surveys).
  • Provide additional communications support to Sector Lead as needed.
What You Bring to the Team
  • University degree or diploma in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of business communications experience, preferably within a digitally focused role.
  • Demonstrated experience in comms program development.
  • Exceptional written/oral communications skills and storytelling lens; ability to take complex ideas and transition into clear, compelling content and meaningful messaging.
  • Demonstrated event planning, logistics and delivery experience.
  • Ability to successfully plan and execute multiple priorities with tight deadlines and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience and maturity in dealing with sensitive matters and strong business acumen to enable tactful problem-solving and collaborative-driven solutions.
  • Ability to lead as a dedicated contributor within a larger team environment, be open-minded, and embrace feedback and direction from others.
  • Thorough grasp of Microsoft Office suite of products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint).
  • Creative knowledge and experience with Canva.
  • Knowledge of key Adobe Creative Cloud tools, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, is considered an asset.
  • Must have a valid Class G licence and access to a vehicle for travel to job sites, as required
