In keeping with the QNW mission and values, the Communications Officer liaises with the media, ensures the implementation of the organization\'s communications plan and disseminates information about the organization to members, governmental and non-governmental bodies and Indigenous partners. Main Responsibilities \xe2\x97\x8f Ensure a media watch on the various issues that may affect First Nations, particularly Indigenous women; \xe2\x97\x8f Develop and maintain relations with the various media stakeholders;
\xe2\x97\x8f Plan and coordinate press conferences and any other event with the media;
\xe2\x97\x8f Develop a communications plan and keep it up to date;
\xe2\x97\x8f Be the communication resource for the President and Management;
\xe2\x97\x8f Coordinate the President\'s agenda;
\xe2\x97\x8f Accompany the President to media events;
\xe2\x97\x8f Draft information documents on QNW activities (newsletters, brochures, leaflets, press releases, letters, speeches, etc.);
\xe2\x97\x8f Manage QNW\'s social networks (Facebook, Instagram, etc.);
\xe2\x97\x8f Prepare visual content for the dissemination of information on the various platforms;
\xe2\x97\x8f Respond to requests for information from the public;
\xe2\x97\x8f Disseminate information on the organization\'s activities and events to the public, members and partners;
\xe2\x97\x8f Liaise with Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities and government agencies;

\xe2\x97\x8f Help to organize the Annual General Assembly;
\xe2\x97\x8f Perform any other related duties as required by management. Job Requirements \xe2\x97\x8f Bachelor\'s degree in communications or a related field;
\xe2\x97\x8f Minimum of two (2) years experience as a communications officer, liaison officer or other relevant experience;
\xe2\x97\x8f Bilingual (English and French);
\xe2\x97\x8f Strong interest in working with First Nations;
\xe2\x97\x8f Knowledge of the community and political issues of the First Nations;
\xe2\x97\x8f Knowledge of Wordpress, Canva and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint);
\xe2\x97\x8f Knowledge of computer graphics software;
\xe2\x97\x8f Knowledge and use of social media as a communication strategy;
\xe2\x97\x8f Good knowledge of technologies associated with website management;
\xe2\x97\x8f Demonstrate good interpersonal skills;
