The Communications & Marketing Coordinator \xe2\x80\x93 Library Services is responsible for the execution of various marketing strategies for the SDG Library, and for providing support with public and community relations, internal communications, social media, website presence, and the media. Main duties include but are not limited to:
  • Develop, administer and coordinate Library Services marketing and communications to ensure a consistent message across the system.
  • Coordinate internal and external communications ensuring concise and clear messaging.
  • Identify opportunities for positive media coverage and develop relationships with local media.
  • Maintain a consistent marketing standard, brand, and image for the Library.
  • Design and illustrate to print-readiness material such as program materials, promotional/marketing products, library signage and internal library forms.
  • Implement graphic standards (branding guidelines) and monitor quality assurance. Liaise with staff and provide consultative services, including advice, guidance and orientation on the development of promotional and marketing campaigns, such as content, layout, branding standards and best implementation methods.
  • Assist in the development and evaluation of the Library\xe2\x80\x99s long-range planning process, providing market research data to drive annual planning to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Serve as point of contact with County communications staff.
  • Develop and update content for publication to websites and assist in improving functionality and navigation.
  • Recommend and draft procedures relative to the Library\xe2\x80\x99s marketing and communications activities.
  • Actively monitor trends, issues and standards in marketing and communications with reference to library best practices.
  • Take photographs and videos to support marketing initiatives.
  • Assist in the scheduling of system-wide marketing, communications and branding and perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary diploma or certificate in Marketing & Communications or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of strategic marketing for non-profit organizations.
  • Two to three years\xe2\x80\x99 experience, preferably in a public sector or similar setting and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of marketing principles and strategies. Demonstrated proficiency in web and print publishing software. Experience with web content publishing and web content management systems.
  • Possess and maintain a valid \'G\' driver\'s license.
  • Ability to provide a current satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
