Job Description


This full-time position is primarily responsible for developing, implementing, measuring and reporting on the CHBA \xe2\x80\x93 Edmonton Region\xe2\x80\x99s communications strategy. This includes all Association communications through written correspondence, website and social media in support of advocacy and member engagement. Core Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Develop and implement the Association\xe2\x80\x99s communications strategy

  • Work with internal member committees to support the communications strategy.
  • Develop an understanding of the industry and ability to communicate advocacy issues.
  • Measure and report on the success of the communications strategy.
  • Develop materials designed to inform, educate and/or advocate on behalf of the Association.
2. Management of all Association internal and external communications
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, track, and evaluate the design and development of CHBA \xe2\x80\x93 Edmonton Region website.
  • Provide editorial support for all written materials such as: reports, briefs, bios, speeches, scripts, presentations, letters, weekly updates, monthly newsletters, press releases and columns.
  • Responsible for maintaining all social media accounts including posting, content creation and tracking metrics.
3. Member engagement through Communications
  • Oversee and facilitate the Engagement Committee in partnership with the Member Services Manager.
  • Conduct surveys and compile data on member perspectives and feedback.
  • Content curation through meetings, events and other activities including taking photos, video, etc.
  • Provide support as required for events.
4. Develop and maintain media relations on behalf of the Association in alignment with the strategic and communication plans. 5. Awards of Excellence in Housing
  • Assist Committee in the annual review of the awards criteria.
  • Manage all communications, and marketing material for the event.
  • Open to perform other duties as assigned by the CEO.
Knowledge: Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in Communications, equivalents will be considered. Experience: 3-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a communications role. Skills and Abilities: 1. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. 2. Creative thinker, able to develop new communication ideas. 3. Social media savvy is a must. 4. Well organized and detail oriented with the ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines. 5. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently as well as in a team. 6. Ability to work in a fast paced and continually changing environment. 7. Proficient in Adobe Pro and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher etc.). 8. Experience working with a custom interface website. 9. Graphic design or working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop abilities is an asset. Working Conditions: 1. Office setting 2. Limited direct physical demands. Job requires extended periods of sitting. 3. Occasional off-site meetings. Some in-town travel required. 4. Will be expected to attend evening and/or early morning events. 5. Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license required. Job Type: Full-time Benefits:
