As the Communication Design Specialist, you are passionate about the visual storytelling that supports Canfor\'s global brand. Armed with extensive experience in graphic and digital content design, you possess the unique ability to distill intricate subjects into easily digestible visuals. In this 18-month temporary contract (with potential for long-term), you will be responsible for creating compelling visual content that resonates with the target audience, maintains brand consistency, and contributes to the overall brand strategy. This role entails merging design expertise with brand messaging to create content across multiple platforms.

A day in the life of the Communication Design Specialist includes:

  • Creating visually appealing and engaging graphic and digital content for various platforms and mediums, including our internal and external websites, social media, branded emails, posters, signage, annual reports, billboards, PowerPoint presentations, and simple video editing.
  • Engaging in collaborative efforts with cross-functional teams spanning our operational regions in Canada, the US, and Sweden.
  • Generating a variety of materials including infographics, brochures, campaign assets, posters, presentations, webpage designs, Microsoft templates, banners, translated content, and any other essential collateral. \xe2\x80\xa2 Partnering closely with departments including finance, HR, sales, and IT to understand and accomplish project deliverables.
For this role come equipped with:
  • A university degree, completion of a college diploma, or combination of related education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a graphic design-related role
  • Proficiency in using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft products including PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • A valid passport and the ability to travel occasionally to Canadian or U.S. operations (2-3 times/year).
In a perfect world, you also have agency and industry experience as well as a familiarity with web design principles and coding languages like HTML and CSS.
