Communications Coordinator

Job Description

Working in partnership with the senior management team, the Communications Coordinator supports activities related to the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta communication, marketing and public relations functions. This involves contributing to the development and implementation of communication, marketing, and public relations strategies which promote the work of the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta. The Communications Coordinator also contributes to the ongoing strategic and business planning activities of the organization. Key Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the development, implementation and evaluation of the communication, marketing, and public relations strategies of the college
  • Develops and oversees production of CPTA communication/marketing materials including newsletters, annual report, forms, and other publications (both paper and electronic)
  • Manages the website and social media
  • Monitors uptake of communications and contributes to development of best practices for communication distribution to broaden the reach of CPTA communications and target specific audiences, including use of social media and other digital communications
  • Provides editorial support to staff
  • Ensures compliance with visual identity guidelines
  • Liaises with vendors/suppliers/consultants
  • Other duties as assigned or required
Education
  • Degree or diploma with a focus on communication, marketing, public relations or graphic design
Position Specific Skills & Abilities
  • Using Adobe Creative Suite (or equivalent desktop publishing program)
  • Working knowledge of word processing
  • Experience with social media applications
  • Basic understanding of HTML and use of content management systems an asset
  • Effective written, verbal and website communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a small team
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Willingness to be flexible
  • Creative thinker
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 14 months Salary: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year Benefits:
