Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Communications and Community Engagement Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and executing communication strategies, fostering community partnerships, and ensuring that our collective messages are clear, consistent, and reaches al partners - patients, healthcare providers, community organizations, and the public.



The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare communications, community engagement, and building trust with diverse populations. They will be skilled at crafting messages, organizing outreach programs, and working closely with internal and external partners to drive engagement and promote the POHTs collaborative mission.



Key Responsibilities



Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans that align with the goals of the POHT, ensuring messaging is clear, concise, and impactful for diverse audiences both internal and external to the organization (patients, healthcare providers, community partners, etc.) Lead community outreach efforts, including organizing events, health fairs, and workshops to educate and engage the community. Develop and maintain content for various platforms (social media, website, newsletters, press releases, brochures, etc.) to engage diverse community groups and promote programs. Monitor the effectiveness of communication efforts by collecting and analyzing data on community engagement activities, preparing reports on communication and engagement metrics for leadership, offering insights and recommendations for improvement. Work closely with clinical, operational, and administrative teams across member organizations to ensure communication strategies are aligned with organizational goals and are consistent to maximize impact.

Qualifications & Experience



Minimum of 3 years of experience in communications, community engagement, or public relations, preferably in a healthcare or nonprofit setting. Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. Experience working with diverse communities, particularly in the context of healthcare access and equity. Proven track record of creating and executing successful communication strategies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for various audiences. Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for building relationships and engaging with community members. Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check

Pay: $61,210.00 per year
