Technical Safety Division of Labour, Skills and Immigration, Nova Scotia

Key Responsibilities:
Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling systems.
Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical diagrams.
Ensure installations meet industry standards and client specifications.
Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
Collaborate with project managers and other technicians on-site.
Travel to various job sites across the province.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in communications cabling or related field.
Must hold or be eligible to obtain a
Communications Cabling Specialist Certificate
recognized by the
Chief Electrical Inspector of Nova Scotia
1.
Strong understanding of cabling standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI).
Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Assets:
BICSI certification or equivalent.
Experience with fiber optic splicing and testing.
WHMIS and Fall Protection certifications.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
