Job Summary
Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick (DMNB) is a campus of Dalhousie's Faculty of Medicine. The main DMNB administrative office is located on the UNB Campus in Saint John. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working in close collaboration with the Director of Operations, the Communications and Stakeholder Relations Advisor plays a key role in the effective communication of DMNB activities, priorities, and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement internal and external communication strategies aligned with the DMNB and Faculty of Medicine strategic plans.
Create integrated content (writing, photography, video, and design) for newsletters, websites, social media, reports, events, and presentations.
Act as DMNB's media liaison and including media and materials for events.
Build and maintain positive relationships with media representatives, government communicators, Horizon Health Network, and community stakeholders.
Support donor and alumni events in collaboration with the Advancement Office and Dalhousie Medical Alumni Association.
Provide communications support and project management for special initiatives, research promotion, and strategic planning.
Note
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work from within New Brunswick) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
Required Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in a related field, with five years' related experience in communications, public relations, or stakeholder engagement (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
Proven ability to develop integrated communications strategies and materials across multiple platforms and audiences.
Experience coordinating events, managing media relations, and working with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience creating content that supports fundraising, alumni engagement, and institutional reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop), CMS platforms, and social media tools.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Assets
Training in project management, graphic design, or digital tools.
Experience working in health care, higher education, or government.
