United for Literacy is a national charitable literacy organization, established in 1899 on the belief that literacy is a right. We work collaboratively with community-based agencies across Canada to provide targeted, innovative literacy and numeracy support where it's needed most. Each year, over 31,000 children, youth, and adults participate in our programs in more than 160 communities throughout the country.
About the role
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Volunteers to support our community initiatives and organizational projects. This role offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to various programs, develop new skills, and gain valuable experience in a dynamic environment. Volunteers will work closely with staff and other team members to promote our mission and serve the community effectively.
We're looking for volunteers who would like to lend a hand with our communications strategy. Specifically, we are seeking volunteer ambassadors to help us:
Gather video material on the ground
Share testimonials
Film "a day in the life" of a volunteer
Take part in a filmed Q&A
Support other communications initiatives
Volunteers can pick and choose how they want to contribute. We'll be hosting virtual information sessions at the beginning of December and in January and there's no commitment required to attend. Volunteers can join the meeting to learn more, ask questions, and then decide if they'd like to get involved.
This volunteer position is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to make a positive impact while developing a diverse set of professional skills.
