Our Project team are currently seeking a Commissioning Mechanical Lead to join their team. This position will be based in our St. John's office with periodic business trips to Ingleside, TX and transition Offshore Newfoundland for the completion of project scope. As the Commissioning Mechanical Lead, you will support the Mechanical SME with daily work and resource planning including vendor support and coordination of commissioning activities.
What will you be doing?• Execute and manage Mechanical commissioning personnel and subcontractors in tasks associated with the successful Commissioning of Mechanical systems accrodance with the commissioning strtegy and schedule.
• Manage Commissioning craft labour and subcontractors for Mechanical commissioning activities.
• Liaise with Operations to identify and prepare the necessairy documentation to support isolations and isolation certificates (ICC's).
• Prepare necessary permit to work and supporting documentation as per Client's work management system.
• Responsible for gathering and maintiaing commissioning documentation to validate the rediness for operation of critical start up items including checksheets, PSSR punches, equipment data).
• Focus on and contribute to a strong safety and quality mindset by participating in commissioning risk management processes including HAZOPs, JHA's, and FLRA's.
• Particpate in project Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
• Supervise and mentor field personnel, conduct effective safety meetings, ensure established commissioning processes and policies are communicated and adhered.
• Liaise with the client discipline and daily interface with commissioning personnel in the other discplines.
• Input to Offshore Lead for daily reporting requirements including daily timesheets.
• Identification, follow up and resolution of field technical queries.
• Review and sign off on turnover documentation prior to accetance from construction.
• Field as-building and redlining of documentation.
• Investigate and resolve personnel issues with assistance from others as required.
We think you should have:• Technical diploma or Trade Certification as a journey person Millwright in related discipline with a minimum 8 years of experience in Commissioning in an industrial/Offshore environment.
• Must have minimum 5 years of frontline supervisor experience.
• Offshore Experience/experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Offshore Supervisory experience considered an asset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of local safety and offshore industry regulations considered an asset.
• Must complete mandatory safety training and meet qualifications required for work offshore Newfoundland.
