Our client, a Canadian global leader in exploration, mine engineering, and environmental protection has an immediate need for a Commissioning and Start up Instrumentation Technician. This is a contract position for six (6) months. This role is a fly in/fly out camp position from Saskatoon, SK.

  • Fly In Fly Out Camp accommodations provided.
  • Rotation (2 weeks in-2 weeks out, 11 hours a day)
  • Company Charter Flights provided - Departing from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Description

The Commissioning and Start up Instrumentation Technician has the primary responsibility to ensure all Instrumentation work taken by him/her are completed in a safe manner abiding by all safety program requirements.

Role Accountabilities:
  • Modifying, repairing, testing, troubleshooting, and inspecting electrical and instrument installations.
  • Verifying installation, wiring, and terminations of MCC\'s, control panels, and junction boxes.
  • Inspection, modification, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation installations.
  • Identifying and documenting deficiencies. Provide input and follow up on deficiencies to make sure they are addressed and closed satisfactorily.
  • Completing defined commissioning documentation (e.g., check sheets, ITPs, and test reports)
  • Recording final and accurate as-built/as-left conditions on redline drawings, datasheets, and project documentation.
  • Participating in commissioning team meetings including, without limitation, daily toolbox, safety, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
Qualifications:
  • 2 - 5 years of commissioning experience
  • Journeyperson status as an instrumentation mechanic or technician an asset
  • CSO Designation
  • Previous experience in a brown field commissioning environment is required.
  • Hands on proven experience in commissioning and start-up activities is required.
  • Previous experience in a nuclear facility is preferred.
  • Supervisor training/certification is required.
  • Safety certificate is highly preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills required.
  • Pre access substance testing required
