Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Commissary Kitchen Assistant to join our food service team. This role involves supporting meal preparation, food handling, and kitchen operations within a busy commissary environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts, strong food safety awareness, and experience in food industry settings. Duties

Assist with meal and food preparation, including chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients Support kitchen staff in maintaining cleanliness and organization of workstations Handle food products safely, adhering to food safety standards and protocols Prepare ingredients using proper knife skills and cooking techniques Assist with portioning, packaging, and labeling prepared foods for distribution Maintain inventory levels of supplies and notify management of shortages Support catering events by preparing dishes and setting up serving areas Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment Help with cleaning kitchen equipment and ensuring compliance with sanitation standards

Requirements

Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or catering environments is preferred Knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills, and meal preparation methods Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Culinary experience or background in the food industry and commissary kitchen environment is a plus Excellent teamwork and communication skills Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting supplies or equipment A passion for culinary arts and a commitment to quality service

Pay: $17.20-$20.00 per hour
