COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE OPERATIONS OFFICER

The Real Estate and Development Branch is looking for a Commercial Real Estate Operations Officer for an indeterminate position. The position is classified as an R\xc3\x89-05 ($68,641 to $91,072 per annum - Salary under review).

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Chief, Commercial Property Management, the Commercial Real Estate Operations Officer provides oversight of the third-party commercial service provider through regular and ongoing engagement with internal/external stakeholders and clients. The individual undertakes market research, creates documents for leasing and transactions, applies sound leasing practices, communicates effectively, is results oriented and provides project management skills that supports strategic priorities within the Real Estate Management Division. The Commercial Real Estate Operations Officer is responsible for the development and implementation of revenue-generation initiatives, and the initiation and management of capital projects to support leasing and operations within the commercial portfolio.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: University degree in a field related to the position such as Real Estate Management, Business, Marketing, or an acceptable combination of experience, education and/or training. EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a commercial real estate setting dealing with Commercial Property Management or Operations.
KNOWLEDGE
  • Of property management including leasing, lease administration, asset performance and project management;
  • Of financial analysis as it relates to leasing and property management;
  • Of laws and regulations governing property and leasing;
  • Of operational issues within commercial portfolios and mitigating solutions.

ABILITIES
  • To oversee the preparation and review of lease documents with a strong attention to details;
  • To collaborate with internal and external parties to determine issues, identify solutions, make recommendations and implement the approved response;
  • To work effectively within a team environment as well as individually and meet tight deadlines despite continually changing priorities;
  • To communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
  • Strong negotiating and conflict resolution skills.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Possess or eligible to obtain Secret security clearance;
  • Linguistic profile: Bilingual BBB;
  • Position is in the National Capital Region. The candidate must reside within a commutable distance from the workplace (40 Elgin Street, Ottawa, Ontario);
  • The National Capital Commission offer a hybrid and flexible work environment, all employees are currently asked to work on-site at least two (2) days per week.
