Job Description

We are currently seeking an energetic, dedicated, and hardworking professional to fill the position of Real Estate Clerk at our Vaughan location in our Cost Sharing Department. We offer an opportunity to work for an industry-leading company and a very competitive compensation and benefits package. Commercial Real Estate - Law Clerk Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercial and residential purchase, sale and financing transactions, including drafting documentation and corresponding directly with clients and other lawyer\xe2\x80\x99s offices
  • Performing sub-searches of title and off-title searches
  • Assisting with registration of plans of subdivision and other land development matters
  • Assisting with commercial leasing transactions
  • Preparing various documents in Teraview including Transfers, Charges, Easements, Notices, Discharges etc.
  • Preparing reporting letters and accounts to clients
  • Organizing and maintaining physical and electronic files
  • Opening files in PCLaw
  • Drafting and amending all correspondence
  • Drafting closing documentation for commercial and residential purchase, sale and financing transactions, including preparing necessary corporate documentation
  • Preparing and organizing closing of subdivision lot sales and purchases through Conveyancer
  • Other duties as assigned
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following:
  • A diploma in a related Legal Administration and/or Law Clerk program or equivalent years of experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in a similar position in a Commercial or Residential Real Estate Law practice
  • Proficiency with PC Law, Microsoft Office Suite, Teraview and Conveyancer
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, accurately and efficiently on multiple files
  • Ability to complete commercial and residential purchase and sale transactions from start to finish with minimal supervision
