Reporting to the Branch Manager; the Commercial Sales Representative (CSR) will have the primary responsibility in developing and managing key client account relationships for the commercial portfolio.
The successful candidate will establish relationships with the existing sales team and lead in the hunting and closing of opportunities.
The Commercial Sales Representative (CSR) will act as a mentor and provide the necessary expertise and skill set to support branch growth within the commercial sector.
Abide by all company Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) rules and regulations. Additional tasks and duties identified may be assigned.
Responsibilities
Develop a sales funnel of business opportunities and establish a strategy to close deals and over achieve sales targets.
Meet or exceed growth targets in volume levels, new customer accounts, and margin.
Understand the day-to-day business needs of the client and provide sound information and advice on our products and service.
Price review and recommendation for new and existing accounts.
Prepare and submit company response to Tenders, contract requests and RFP's.
Work closely with the operations, service and marketing team to support and develop new sectors, support sector campaigns and champion field activity to ensure all leads are executed and completed upon.
Provide all necessary credit information and work within the credit policies of the company.
Work with the credit supervisor to ensure that assistance is provided for problem accounts.
Provide sales and technical support to Agents' efforts to grow their businesses.
Continually review product margins, act on opportunities to increase margin capture while maintaining or growing product volume.

Ensure compliance with the Company's Prudent Operations guidelines.
Identify and report any safety concerns, or operational risks.
Follow proper handling procedures

CSA approved steel toe safety footwear (at construction sites or industrial locations)
CSA approved hard hats (at construction sites or industrial locations)
CSA approved goggles or safety glasses (at construction sites or industrial locations)

Required Skills & Qualifications
Post secondary education in a related field is an asset.
5-10 years experience in a similar sales or marketing position.
Strong verbal and written communications skills with a professional and friendly demeanor.
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
High energy and strong networking skills.
Computer skills especially MS Office suite.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Awareness of and commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

Exercise day-to-day decision-making authority within well-defined targets and objectives for volume, margin, and pricing.
Work Schedule & Expectations
Must be available to work within designed business hours.
