We are a performance-driven company that values accountability, precision, and professionalism. As we continue to scale, we are looking for an experienced Commercial Mechanical Estimator to join our team and help us deliver high-quality projects on time and on budget.
Position Overview
The Commercial Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, Sheet metal and full mechanical systems on large-scale commercial and institutional projects. This position reports directly to the management team and works collaboratively with operations, design, and project management to ensure accurate, competitive, and profitable bids.
This is a hybrid position, with flexibility to work both from home and in-office at our Lindsay headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed and accurate mechanical estimates for projects between $1M-$20M.
Review tender documents, specifications, and drawings to develop full mechanical take-offs.
Analyze labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment costs.
Develop value-engineering options and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and review addenda.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field supervisors during project turnover.
Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors for up-to-date pricing.
Support ongoing cost analysis and forecasting on awarded projects.
Qualifications
Minimum
5 years of experience
estimating large-scale commercial or institutional mechanical projects.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems -- plumbing, HVAC, hydronic, and sheet metal.
Proficient in estimation software (e.g., Quote Soft, FastPIPE, FastDUCT) and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent reading and interpretation skills for mechanical drawings and specifications.
Strong communication and organization skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performance team.
