Position Summary
The Commercial Manager, Meals on Wheels is responsible for leading apetito Canada's Meals on Wheels (MOW) business nationally. This includes strategic account management of circa 100 Meals on Wheels organizations across Ontario and Atlantic Canada, along with driving geographic expansion into new markets such as Western Canada.
Reporting directly to the Sales & Marketing Director, this is a senior, hands-on leadership role that combines commercial acumen with partnership development and strategic growth. The successful candidate will serve as the primary contact and relationship manager for all Meals on Wheels accounts, ensuring exceptional service, strong retention, and sustainable business growth.
Ultimately, the right candidate will be responsible for the commercial performance and growth strategy of apetito's Meals on Wheels business, in collaboration the senior management team.
Roles and Responsibilities
Account Management & Retention:
Manage relationships and develop our business with approximately 100 Meals on Wheels accounts across Ontario and Atlantic Canada.
Serve as the primary liaison for all client needs, ensuring exceptional service and consistent engagement.
Lead account reviews, performance tracking, and business planning sessions with key customers.
Monitor customer satisfaction and retention, proactively identifying risks and opportunities.
Strategic Business Development:
Lead apetito's geographic expansion strategy for Meals on Wheels, targeting growth across Canada.
Develop and execute a business development plan aligned with apetito's national growth objectives.
Build partnerships with local organizations, municipalities, and community networks to establish new Meals on Wheels programs that expand our mission of making a real difference.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
Collaborate closely with Marketing, Category Management, and Product Development to deliver customer-driven innovation and tailored solutions.
Champion the voice of the customer to inform strategic range development and menu innovation, working closely with the Category Manager during annual menu reviews.
Work with internal operations stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of operations and supply chain projects.
Represent Meals on Wheels within internal & external leadership forums as a senior member of the managers' team.
Reporting & Analysis:
Utilize key metrics including sales performance, retention, and new business growth to drive actionable strategies.
Prepare regular updates and strategic recommendations for the Director of Sales & Marketing (B2B).
Contribute to annual planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes.

Meals on Wheels organizations, community partners, regional networks, and government stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills
5+ years of experience in marketing, account management, business development, or B2B sales--preferably in the food service, healthcare, or community sectors.
Proven experience managing multi-region or multi-account portfolios.
Strong relationship-building and communication skills with community-focused partners.
Strategic thinker with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans.
Demonstrated leadership and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
Passion for community impact and mission-driven business.
