Position Purpose

Reporting to the Manager, the Commercial Kitchen Cleaner (Cleaner) is responsible for ensuring the kitchen is properly and thoroughly cleaned without interrupting the daily routine. This includes, but is not limited to cleaning, sanitizing and descaling all kitchen equipment. They utilize sanitary conditions which prevent the spread of infection and odors.

The Cleaner is responsible for thoroughly cleaning, sanitizing, and descaling the Mission Mobile Meals Food Trucks or Catering Vehicles when assigned.

Major Responsibilities

Develop and implement a cleaning schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) for both commercial kitchens and the Catering Vehicles Clean, degrease and polish commercial kitchen equipment including: deep fryers, ovens, ranges, flat top grills, char grills, steamers, and other kitchen equipment Clean, degrease and polish stainless steel equipment throughout the kitchen including hoods, backsplashes, and trim Clean, disinfect and polish stainless steel food prep areas Clean and degrease tile flooring using recommended chemicals and equipment Change foil linings of Stovetops Disinfect prep surfaces Wipe down and clean grill, range, flattop, Deep fryer, Steamer, Tilt skillet, Soup Kettle and other equipment Clean & Disinfect Hobart, Microwave Wipe down walls Sweep & Mop floors Sweep & Mop dry storage area Clean & disinfect under counter storage areas Disinfect waste disposal area to prevent pests and the spread of bacteria Wash & disinfect the exterior and interior of each Garbage, Recycling, & Compost bins Run hood filters through the dishwasher Wash and sanitize walk-ins Clean ovens, including the walls, sides, and racks Clean coffee machine Wash walls and ceiling to remove grease buildup Wash behind hot line to prevent clogs Clean & Descale the steam table Clean and sanitize freezers Wash vent hoods Clean Kitchen Washrooms Use drain cleaners in floor drains Maintain all equipment and supplies according to Company policies Ordering and replenishing cleaning supplies as necessary
Other Requirements

Education:

High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent

Experience:

3 - 4 year's prior experience working in a commercial kitchen environment is highly preferred

Qualifications:

Good oral and written communication skills Ability to multi-task Ability to work in a very fast paced environment Must be a self-starter with a sense of urgency Must be punctual, responsible, respectful and hard-working Must be able to work with minimal supervision Ability to work 5:00 pm until 1:00 am

Working Conditions:

Physically demanding involving frequent lifting, bending, and standing Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Pushes, pulls, lifts, cleaning equipment and supplies May stand on small stepladder to reach high places Subject to heavy dust, housekeeping, and disinfecting solutions Must be comfortable working in a challenging environment that has the potential for confrontation and/or exposure to violence
