A&R is a Western-Canada Electrical Contractor. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Commercial Electrician to join our team at A & R Electric ltd. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial troubleshooting skills.
Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems Commercial buildings according to local codes and regulations.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the layout of electrical systems.
Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various electrical tasks.
Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure timely project completion.
Conduct renovations involving electrical work while adhering to safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and practices during all work activities.
Perform new installation of power distribution, transformers, UG Conduit Pad work, Switchgear, AC/DC Inverters, lighting, and electrical equipment.
Bend conduit. Interpret complex electrical schematics and blueprints to plan work scopes, install requested improvements, troubleshoot, and correct problems
Familiarity with electrical systems from 120/240 single phase through 480v three phase.
Data, fire alarm and control familiarity are a plus
Complete tasks in a timely manner and provide feedback
Travel to various job sites within Fraser Valley, primarily in Surrey and Langley
Must be able to work at heights.
Ideal candidates would possess the following:
Journeyman Electrician certification.
3 years of hands-on experience with Commercial Service and Maintenance.
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Flexible to be able to work customer directed schedule when needed.
Strong safety record
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including low voltage applications
Troubleshooting Skills
Familiarity with construction practices related to electrical installations.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with a willingness to adapt to any situation.
Familiarity with technology and a willingness to learn and adapt to various ways of communicating with the customer
Positive and "Can Do!" attitude, self-motivated, strong work ethic, and team player Commitment to continual personal and professional growth
Project tasks could include but are not limited to working outdoors in all-weather elements, working from heights, physical labor, underground installations (trenching), pulling/strapping cable, cable terminations, Lighting/Fire Alarm installations.

8 years preferred (Journeyman Electrician: 4 years preferred + 4 years Red seal Electrician ).
