This role involves reviewing drawing packages, completing accurate take-offs, building material and glass schedules, coordinating supplier pricing, and supporting bid preparation and project handover.
This position is
key to project and company success
, with room to grow into Senior Estimator or Project Management roles.
Key Responsibilities
Review architectural drawings, specifications, and addenda.
Complete accurate take-offs and quantity breakdowns for:
Aluminum storefront and curtain wall systems
Glazing packages and glass assemblies
Entrance doors and hardware packages
Prepare complete
glass schedules
and
material lists
.
Request pricing from suppliers/fabricators and compare quotations.
Support value-engineering and alternate product solutions.
Prepare bid summaries and assist with formal proposal submissions.
Work closely with Project Management during award and hand-off.
Preferred
Experience with Kawneer, Oldcastle, Metro, Alumicor, or similar system catalogs.
Experience in glazing, commercial aluminum doors, fabrication, or field glazing is a strong asset.
Required Experience / Skills
Working proficiency with Glazier Studio and/or PartnerPak+
(required)* Able to create jobs, input elevations, build units, generate material lists, etc.
Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
Understanding of glass types, coatings, thermal performance, and system applications.
Proficiency with
Bluebeam
and
Excel
for take-off and documentation.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
Clear communication and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
