Summary

H.B.D Forming ltd. is looking to hire a commercial concrete stair forming specialist. To construct temporary molds or "forms" using wood or other materials to shape concrete stairs, ensuring they are level, stable, and meet building codes before the concrete is poured. This position involves reading blueprints, calculating materials, cutting and assembling the forms, and installing them accurately to achieve the desired stair geometry for foundations, walls, and other concrete structures. Key Responsibilities

Interpreting blueprints

: Reading detailed architectural and construction drawings to understand the specifications for the concrete forms.

Material preparation

: Measuring, cutting, and shaping the necessary formwork materials, such as wood or engineered products.

Form construction

: Assembling and installing the forms to create the precise molds for concrete stairs, ensuring they are level, stable, and capable of withstanding the pressure of wet concrete.

Ensuring code compliance

: Making sure the forms and the final concrete structures meet all relevant building codes and standards.

Safety

: Erecting and dismantling forms, scaffolding, and other temporary structures in a safe manner.
Skills and Knowledge

Formwork experience

: Proven experience in building, installing, and dismantling formwork for concrete structures, especially stairs.

Material handling

: Proficiency in working with various construction materials.

Reading plans

: A strong ability to interpret blueprints and construction drawings.

Measuring and layout

: Skilled use of measuring tools to prepare accurate layouts.

Basic concrete understanding

: Knowledge of basic concrete work, including understanding the need for form stability and correct pour preparation.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $33.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
