Position Overview+

As a apprentice carpenter you are responsible to perform a variety of tasks at a construction project site. Tasks may require little skill and be learned quickly; other tasks require considerable experience or hands-on training. This position is often required to work outside in all kinds of weather or in buildings without heating or air conditioning.

Roles & Responsibilities



Assist tradesmen and machine operators in construction projects

Erect and break up scaffolding, ramps etc. with attention to safety

Unload and carry materials at construction sites

Use equipment to break old forms and structures

Use tools to demolish structures

Prepare and apply construction materials to build structures or fill gaps

Smooth and level new concrete or other materials

Clean out site from debris and discarded material

Place safety tools and signals out (signs for traffic etc) where appropriate

Maintain a daily log of tasks and hazard assessment cards.

Required Experience and Education:



Proven experience as a apprentice carpenter

Experience in operating equipment

The ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time.

Completion of CSTS, Fall Protection, and carpentry or forming experience are assets.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
