Centennial Carstar New Glasgow is looking for an organized, motivated individual to join our team as Collision Damage Appraiser!




NOW HIRING: Collision Damage Appraiser


LOCATION: Centennial Carstar New Glasgow, NS


HOURS: Full time, Permanent - 40 hours per week.


WAGES: $45,000 - $55,000 salary per year + commissions and benefits (negotiable based on experience)

APPLICABLE SKILLS/ QUALIFICATIONS :


• Exceptional written, verbal, and computer skills
• Possess technical knowledge of auto body collision and mechanical repairs
• Extremely strong customer service and phone skills required
• Applicant must be organized, capable of multitasking, prioritizing, working independently, and under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Professional personal presentation
• Must be reliable and show initiative
• Must have valid driver's license
• Thorough knowledge of Mitchell and Audatex electronic imaging/estimating systems is considered a strong asset but not necessary.
• Previous automotive appraiser experience is not necessary but considered a strong asset. Additional training will be provided.




MAIN JOB TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Answer phone calls and direct them accordingly.
• Respond to customer inquiries and provide updates on repair statuses.
• Schedule appointments and manage customer expectations.
• Inspect vehicles for collision damage and determine repair needs.
• Create detailed appraisals with accurate repair cost estimates.
• Review repair invoices and ensure they align with estimates.
• Submit supplement requests to insurance companies for approval, including photos, service invoices, parts invoices, and supplement estimates.
• Communicate with technicians throughout the repair process.
• Negotiate and maintain good working relationships with insurance companies and adjusters.
• Stay updated on industry trends and guidelines.
• Provide excellent customer service and address inquiries.
• Maintain accurate records of assessments and estimates.
