Job Description

You might be interested in our Collections Specialist position if you have a strong sense of ownership and attention to detail. As a Collection Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in managing our accounts receivable, focusing on 3rd party collections within a B2B environment. You will be responsible for contacting clients, negotiating payment plans, updating client information, and maintaining effective communication with your team.

This Collections Specialist position in the Mississauga, Ontario region is a short-term contract / temporary opportunity.

Major responsibilities:
- Conduct collections efforts, including making cold calls to clients.
- Research and locate contact information for clients.
- Collaborate closely with team members to share information and strategies.
- Maintain effective communication with clients via email and phone.
- Negotiate payment plans that align with clients\' financial capabilities.
- Handle 3rd party collections professionally and ethically.
- Update invoices with clients\' payment information.
- Ensure accurate client information is recorded and maintained.
- Ensure payments are processed.
- Catalog all customer payments to the correct reports.
- Administer all billing and reporting activities in response to deadlines.

- Proven experience in collections, with a focus on B2B accounts.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- 2+ years of prior high volume collections experience
- Strong negotiation skills to set up viable payment plans.
- Billing Statements experience
- AA or BS/BA in Accounting preferred.
- Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics experience preferred
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Proficiency in using collection software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Collaborative mindset with a dedication to teamwork.
