Job Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Collections Clerk to join our financial services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounts receivable, performing account reconciliation, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent customer service, and proficiency with accounting software. The Collections Clerk plays a vital role in maintaining healthy cash flow and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities



Manage and monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely payments Contact customers via phone, email, or written correspondence to follow up on overdue accounts Negotiate payment arrangements and resolve billing discrepancies with clients Perform account analysis to identify delinquent accounts and prioritize collection efforts Reconcile accounts and maintain accurate records of collection activities Utilize accounting software to update account statuses and generate reports Collaborate with other departments such as accounts payable and customer service to resolve issues Maintain professional phone etiquette and provide excellent customer service during all interactions Data entry of payment information and account updates with high accuracy Assist in month-end closing processes related to collections and receivables

Experience



Prior experience in accounting, accounts receivable, or collections is preferred Familiarity with accounting software and data entry procedures Strong negotiation skills and the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally Excellent analysis skills for account reconciliation and account analysis tasks Knowledge of financial services industry practices is a plus Basic math skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role Previous experience in customer service or client communication is advantageous

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36,457.93-$50,960.81 per year
