About this role:
Please note - this is a 6 month contract opportunity
The primary functions of the Collections Administrator are to effectively handle documentation, reporting, and administrative requirements and support for Collections in a quick and efficient manner and provide varied administrative support functions for the department.
Accountable to provide centralized moderate and complex administrative support to the Collections Team dealing with the collection of delinquent accounts and realization of security. Responsible for high quality work, process moderate and complex entries with a high degree of accuracy, perform daily administrative functions and to assist the Credit Recovery team as required
Key Responsibilities:
Review, distribute, and re-process NSF payments.
Compile files and documentation as needed to assist the collection team and managers.
Prepare information for 3rd party partners for further action.
Answer general internal / external inquiries on an ongoing basis.
Review and appropriately distribute emails from shared mailboxes.
Provide administrative services and support to the credit and collections team by:
The Collections Administrator is responsible for providing administrative support to the collections team including preparation of all reporting requirements and reconciliations for the collections department.
Review and provide information on Ad-Hoc reports prepared as requested by Manager.
Prepare collections letters according to provincial and federal legislation and internal policies.
Conduct memo and call audits for the collection team.
Distribute collection accounts based on collector worklists.
Review, distribute, and log incoming/returned mail.
Handle the assumption and rewrite requests.
Create Demand Letters when accounts are in default.
Review and maintain relevant procedures and training manuals on SharePoint.
Back up the Collections Representatives when required.
Provide administrative support to management by:
Providing support to the management team where required in all areas of administration.
Setting up presentations from written material and rough drafts (Level 1 Complexity - e.g. Power Point).
Booking meetings when required.
Other duties as assigned.
Provide support to customers and 3rd parties by:
Problem solving involves working within established policies/procedures.
Escalating more complex issues as appropriate after due diligence and investigation.
Requires tact and diplomacy to respond to general inquiries from Customers staying within the guidelines of the Privacy Legislation Act.
Manage routine issues & problems with third parties. Innovation and Problem Solving to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of team:
Use independent judgment to improve a process or procedure.
Continuously search for new and better ways to process work that will enhance internal / external experience.
Work collaboratively in a team environment with peers and colleagues throughout the collection process by sharing best practices
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High School diploma, post-secondary education, and/or equivalent work experience preferred.
Bilingual Skills (Fluency in both English and French) would be an asset.
Demonstrated work experience with office practices, customer service and communication.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Good understanding of basic bookkeeping principles.
Proven ability to work independently and accurately within strict timeframes.
Capacity to manage and carry out multiple tasks and priorities in a demanding environment.
Demonstrate effective inter-personal skills conducive to a team environment.
Excellent organizational skills, problem solving & time management ability, and a commitment to a high degree of accuracy.
Demonstrates creativity in developing and streamlining internal procedures and processes.

Previous collections experience an asset.
Salary Range: CAD $50,000 - $55,000 annually
Compensation for this role is based on a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Candidates with stronger alignment to the role's requirements may be placed higher within the range. Your recruiter will share more information about our total rewards package during the hiring process.
Office Location: Toronto, Burnaby, BC, or Montreal Corporate Offices. This is a hybrid opportunity.
