Shift:

Mon-Fri; 8:00am-4:30pm

PURPOSE:

Receiving inventory according to customer expectations. Pick and assemble orders as per consignee requirements. Ensure loading schedules are met and required paperwork for Cold Storage business is accurate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible to understand the business of Erb Cold Storage and computer system. Receive and ship inventory according to instruction including manual handling sorting of product Pick orders for shipping from "picking slips." A goal of picking 100 cases/hr is an industry standard. Locate orders according to slips (freezer) Ensure accurate piece count. Document any discrepancies when required and pass onto appropriate staff. Stage orders on dock to meet shipping deadlines. Responsible for inventory control (manual and computer). Shrink wrap orders when required. Complete paperwork on orders when required. Work in co-operation with other Cold Storage staff in solving problems. Trace product for customers. All other duties as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Must be able to read and write English. Minor keyboard skills are also required. Accuracy, attention to detail and being a team player are essential requirements. Be able to work independently with initiative to get the job done according to customer demands and deadlines for loading. Must be dependable, on time for work and responsible when dealing with products in refrigerated and freezer areas. Basic mathematic skills- Freight must be counted and loaded accurately and safely.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Hours of work 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. May be required to work overtime or change hours dependent on freight volumes. Employee will work in a freezer locating orders.
