Provide friendly, engaging, and memorable service to guests while making tea and coffee beverages and serving pre-made food-items in an often fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Be knowledgeable of the ingredients and preparation of common tea and coffee-based drink recipes.
• Be knowledgeable of the ingredients in pastries, pre-made sandwiches, salads, and other house-made items for sale.
• Take customer orders, prepare and heat food and beverages as required, and provide help concerning the retail section of the Caf\xc3\xa9 as requested.
• Operate cash register and know procedures for accepting all types of payment.
• Ensure the Caf\xc3\xa9 and retail area is always clean, organized, and fully stocked with food and retail items.
• Maintain a balanced float.
• Be knowledgeable of the Hotel\xe2\x80\x99s facilities and the surrounding area of Banff National Park.
• Follow Health & Safety rules set by the Hotel.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
• Alberta ProServe certification
• Previous customer service experience with barista experience an asset
• Customer-service oriented
• Advanced English communication skills

Physical Demands

• Constant standing and walking
• Frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 11 pounds / 5 kg
• Occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 22 pounds / 10 kg
• Requires operation of an espresso machine and small kitchen appliances
• Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching
